Hey guys, it’s that time of the week again, the Friday blog update! First off we have updated the game to the newest version of Unreal Engine 4.11 which has made the game more stable overall and given us a better fps.
It was great to see another Let’s Play of the Prologue this week (formerly known as the demo) from iFear. We’ve been blessed to have four German play-throughs in total – we were also featured by PaderGamez; GermanSnakeGaming and the utterly fabulous StigmataGaming. We’re hoping to have support for all European languages in the full game and Stiggi has agreed to help us with the German version. If anyone fancies voice acting in a non-English language please get in touch.
Talking about voice acting, our very own Tim Hands has been in Ireland this week. Tim is the ADR Supervisor on Game of Thrones – which if you didn’t know has a new series starting this week. Whilst recording the Prologue we had to re-record several times as he couldn’t stick to the script without warning us that “Winter is Coming”!
We also received an email this week from EGX in September. We wrote to them a few months ago asking for prices to display – I guess they only just finished their media pack. If anyone is interested, a VR stand is mind-boggling £2,200!
We are currently blocking out the flashback sequence and level layout for the Prologue and play testing it for functionality, testers should hope to have a copy within a few weeks.
Here are some sneak peak pictures of the block out so far. Thanks to the supergrid pack on the unreal marketplace, this has really sped up our production!
After this stage is tested we will be replacing the block out with static meshes Katie has been beavering away at. Here are some of the latest static meshes she’s been working on.
Next, when can you expect the new Kickstarter? I know a lot of you have been asking! We will be coming out with a date soon. However, we don’t want to make the same mistake as last time and rush the game out to meet the date we have set for people. Game development can be tricky, you often have to double your time expectations and we have had to learn that the hard way, things can go wrong. We want to make sure the demo is bug free and polished this time round, instead of a pre-alpha.
We have also heard back from Epic and our new marketplace assets will be up on May 4th so look out for them! The sales will go towards funding more development on RELAPSE. The first pack is a Padlock Blueprint, which is taken directly from the RELAPSE Prologue demo. It will allow you to set your own combinations inside your game! The second pack is a static mesh retro kitchen bundle! Let us know what you think of both of them 🙂
